Bristol City Council wants to improve more than 150 parks and green spaces across the city. The council says the plan will cost £87 million and must be part funded by land sales. Last year it consulted on disposing up to 64 green spaces across the city. A record consultation response last year showed thousands of people in all parts of Bristol oppose either parts of the sell-off plan or all of it. Since then the council has removed some of the sites from the sell-off list but more than 40 are still under threat. This has proved to be a hugely controversial topic that has divided opinion.
This page will be updated but for now includes links to all of the Evening Post’s coverage of the issue, as well as the council’s own site and the Bristol Parks Forum page.
