VISITORS climbed to the top of Cabot Tower for the first time in almost four years as the iconic building reopened to the public.
People flocked to the refurbished tower on top of Brandon Hill to enjoy one of the best views in Bristol after it was officially reopened by Bristol’s Lord Mayor on Tuesday.

BOOKWORMS and music buffs can now get their hands on the objects of their affections a little quicker in Bristol’s libraries, thanks to the arrival of self-service machines.
Four self-service machines were used for the first time at the Central Library yesterdayMON, and another three will open at Henleaze library today.

MORE than £1 million will be spent repairing one of the city centre’s primary multi-storey car parks.
Bristol City Council has been warned that if no repairs are carried out there is a “real risk of injuries” to members of the public using Trenchard Street.

AN AMBITIOUS plan to transform a drab street into a major tourist attraction could help put Bristol on the international map, it has been claimed.
As exclusively revealed in the Evening Post yesterday, the See No Evil art project will turn Nelson Street in the city centre into Europe’s largest outdoor art exhibition.
More than 20 of the world’s biggest street artists will paint more than half a dozen of the rundown street’s largest buildings, some 11 stories high.

BRISTOL’S Liberal Democrats have announced the roles councillors will take up in the cabinet – if the hung council agrees tomorrow.
Barbara Janke (Clifton) has set out which councillors will take control of key portfolios if she is reinstated as leader of Bristol City Council at the authority’s annual meeting on Tuesday.
