A LIBERAL Democrat councillor for Southmead has resigned her seat due to ill health.
Councillor Jacqueline Bowles has been suffering from cancer and feels she is no longer able to serve the residents of her ward.
Dr Bowles was elected to the council in June, 2009, taking the sear from the then Labour councillor Peter Hammond.

PLANS for a Tesco Express store to open in a former landmark pub in Southmead have been given the go-ahead by planners.
Company spokeswoman Melanie Chiswell told Bristol city councillors that local people welcomed the proposed store in the old Standard of England pub.
