CAMPAIGNERS are furious after their petition against a showcase bus route wasn’t taken into consideration because it was submitted “at the wrong time”.
More than 1,900 traders and residents signed a petition against the showcase bus route proposal for Fishponds Road.
But they have since found out that it wasn’t taken into consideration when councillors gave the controversial work the go ahead..

THE Greater Fishponds Neighbourhood Partnership has formally objected to plans for a showcase bus route through the area.
But it has been told that consultation on the plans will not be extended.
The route from Yate to Old Market is one of 10 bus corridors included in the £78.8 million Greater Bristol Bus Network Project.

SHOP owners in Westbury- on-Trym say they are facing “financial ruin” because of council work to revamp bus routes.
Traders on Canford Lane claim income has dropped by up to 80 per cent since work started three weeks ago, as part of the £70 million Greater Bristol Bus Network scheme.
They have accused Bristol City Council of trampling on small businesses to help private bus companies.
